Yesterday was something special. 💚
Seeing so many of you wearing your Luke’s Legacy shirts for Luke’s birthday meant more to us than we could ever put into words! Every picture, every post, and every green and blue shirt was a reminder that Luke is still so incredibly loved and remembered.
But one of the most special parts of the day came from Luke’s preschool class. 💚
They spent the day doing random acts of kindness in Luke’s memory, delivering carnations and little dinosaur cards to people throughout our community with a message encouraging others to spread kindness in his name.
And it inspired us.
We want August 25th to always be a day our community remembers Luke. Not only for the little boy he was, but for the kindness, love, and goodness his life continues to put into the world.
So, at the September 28th City Council meeting, we will be asking the Mayor to officially proclaim August 25th as “Luke’s Day”. A day dedicated to doing random acts of kindness in his memory. 💚🦖
There is something incredibly beautiful about watching our little boy’s name travel through our town attached to something as simple and powerful as kindness.
Thank you to his teachers and classmates for starting something so special. Thank you to everyone who wore their Luke shirts, shared his name, thought of him, and helped us celebrate his birthday.
Luke was here. Luke mattered. And because of all of you, his love is still moving through this world.
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate him. 💚🦖🎗️
